Kinja'd!!!

And a quick story on how I found it.

So it was my day off, and I decided to go for a quick drive to get my mind off of some things. I'm at a stop sign, and a little bit down the street, I see an old beat up Camry (circa 2001) go for an overtake of an old Pathfinder (circa 1996). It didn't seem to me that the Pathfinder was going *too slow*, but the Camry driver apparently thought so. The funny thing was, I had just seen the same Camry not ten minutes before, making a dangerous turn from a side street without much regard for the oncoming traffic. He struck me as a teenager who just got his license, or perhaps a permit carrying teen going for a joyride. A quick look at the driver confirmed my suspicion.

In any case, Mr. Pathfinder was having none of this overtaking business. He quickly cut the Camry driver off, and the Camry driver stopped just inches of hitting him. Frightened, he fled down another street, and the Pathfinder followed quickly after him. I thought to myself "well this should be interesting", and followed them while keeping my distance. Even though the Camry driver kind of deserved it, I wanted to be able to call the police if the Pathfinder guy got violent. You never know.

Sure enough, the Camry driver stopped a little ways down the street, thinking he evaded Mr. Pathfinder. Unbeknownst to him, Mr. Pathfinder caught up to the Camry, slammed his car in park, and got out to have a word up close with the Camry driver. He fled before Mr. Pathfinder got too close, and sure enough, Mr. Pathfinder ensued purist once again. I followed them for a little while until a slower driver turned in front of me. I wonder what happened to the Camry driver...

In any case, had I never followed them, I never would have laid eyes on this beautiful BMW! Any thoughts on if its a real M635CSi, or just a badged one?

I wonder if an M88 is under the hood. That would be sexy. The M6 / 635CSi is one of my all time favorite BMWs.

That's definitely badged. An M635CSI badge would mean it's a European import, and a European import wouldn't be sporting those US-spec bumpers, wouldn't be riding on normal-spec stock bottlecaps, and sure as hell wouldn't be sitting all dirty on the street in the middle of winter.

Nice though, a non-M 635 is one of my medium-term must-own cars!

The only M635CSis were Euros, and badged simply "M". The US version was called the "M6," and would have been badged as such. This is a regular American model 635CSi. Hopefully those bottlecaps are just his winter wheels.

Source: I own two E24s.

Nobody ever puts shittier wheels on a better car with the hope that people will think it's a fake.

That is to say it's clearly a fake.

Ah yes, that's as much as assumed.

Still a nice car though

Takes a special set of balls to use an M635csi as a winter beater.
